As part of our Bealtaine Festival 2018
Poet, playwright and novelist Michael Harding joins us as part of our Bealtaine programme in May as he hosts a series of workshops for writers at all stages. Based on creating a memoir from memory, sessions will focus on how to use stories to create and shape a memoir using the conventional structures of a good story. Michael will also focus on how to edit a memoir and the use of humour in memoir writing.
Michael Harding has received numerous awards for his writing and theatre work, including the Steward Parker Award for Theatre,(1990) and the Hennessy Award for short stories. He was Writer in Association with The National Theatre in 1993 and Writer in Residence at Trinity College in 1999. In an innovative column in the Irish Times he has been chronicling ordinary life in midland Ireland for over a decade through memoir, story, fictions and meta-fiction, and the project has also evolved into four volumes of his own best-selling memoir.
