Roscommon Arts Centre in partnership with Roscommon Arts Office are delighted to announce 2 new commissions for visual artists.
Both the Arts Centre & the Arts Office are committed to supporting the production of new work by visual artists in community and site specific contexts.
The Park Project aims to provide artists the opportunity to engage in strategic exploration into history making in relation to Lough Key Forest Park in Boyle, Co. Roscommon. This project takes on the form of a “residency commission” that allows an artist to occupy the space of the park, collecting history and exchanging knowledge that will inform their future work, while working within the historical and contemporary contexts of the site.
Our Arts & Disability Commission is aimed at developing partnerships between artists and wider Roscommon communities while also encouraging learnings in new media for the participants. This project aims to support the production of work by a professional, established artist who is interested in working in the field of Arts & Health, specifically working with people with disabilities, but also has the ability to work with a Brothers of Charity group that can benefit from the project/commission and experience.

Deadlines: May 30th (for both the Park Project and Arts & Disability commission)
