A show about change, misogyny and joyous acts of resistance Between Earth & Sky uses dance, circus, autobiographical storytelling and original live music to create compelling visual theatre which looks at societal perceptions of younger and older women and female experiences of hypervisibility. Living in separate worlds, a young and older women are connected. They are intertwined, yet unaware of each other’s existence. A case of entanglement! Then, through experiences that bring them ‘out of body’, each falls through a crack in their own reality emerging into a world that sits outside the everyday.
A small diverse, integrated cast of aerial, dance and theatre performers with ages ranging from 20 to 50 explores and share experiences at times markedly parallel and at others disparate, as they navigate new landscapes and ask how much has really changed for women from one generation to the next?
Directed by Kate Wilson, performed by Isolde Ó’Brolcháin Carmody, Robin Cara and Lianne Quigley. The show also includes aerial counterweight by Jenny Tufts, live sound and music composition by Aoife Hammond, visual design and projections by Milo Cummins, and lighting and prop design by Michael Cummins.
