In the second of this series curated by John Wynne, we welcome the The Donoghue Brothers to our stage. The Donoghue’s are from Clooneyquinn, Elphin, birthplace of the renowned Percy French. Music played a huge part in the brothers’ upbringing. Their father Joe was a highly respected musician. Joe played many instruments but most notably the fiddle with The Killina Ceilí Band. The group is made up of four siblings, Seán on flute, Joe on whistle, Séamus on banjo and Eamon on button accordion. The Donoghues have a long history of playing together at ceilïs, concerts and festivals as well as touring nationwide and in the UK. It is no surprise that their debut album, Retrospect, was released to critical acclaim in 2020. The Donoghues have performed for numerous TV and radio programmes over the years. Their innate musical telepathy along with the lift and drive in their music has delighted audiences over the years.
