Roscommon Arts Centre is delighted to announce our AIR (Artist in Residence) 2026 recipients.

Laura Brady (Seed Residency)

Laura is an actor and theatre-maker from Dublin. She trained in TUD and LAMDA. In 2024, Laura was selected for BBC’s Maestro programme with actor Brian Cox. In 2025, she received The Pavilion Pulse award and was an Axis Assemble artist. Her debut play, Adelphi ’63 will premiere in Smock Alley Theatre in Spring 2026. It is a fictional celebration of a historical event; The Beatles’ only Irish gigs in 1963, the working-class women who were there and the subsequent riot that occurred in Dublin. Laura’s other work includes Dead & Kicking (Camden People’s Theatre), TINS (Scene + Heard) and her short film, Soft Places.

Louis Haugh (Visual Art Residency)

Louis Haugh is a visual artist born and living in Dublin, Ireland. He holds an MA in Fine Art from NCAD and a BA in Photography from IADT. He is the former Biodiversity Artist in Residence with Dublin City Council (2025) and was awarded the Loughshinny Boathouse Studio Award by Fingal County Council in 2024. Since 2022 he has worked in partnership with Project Arts Centre to design and deliver community initiatives and projects that centre ecological concerns and the climate emergency.

His artistic practice is collaborative and socially engaged, and he often seeks to work with working class, minority or LGBT+ communities. His research is primarily focused on ecology, the environment and our collective responsibility towards the climate emergency, while also creating space for individuals to better understand their own position within these global challenges. Louis also coordinates and delivers Lens Cultures in NCAD as part of the Media BA degree program, and works independently as a Museum Photographer for a range of national institutions.

Winnie Stokes (New Voice Residency)

Roscommon artist and creative producer Winnie Stokes will use her residency to further develop a collaborative project drawing on stories about life on the road for members of the Traveller community.  She will also work with other creatives architect Brian Ward and creative producers Bernie McDonagh and Winnie Mongan to develop an interactive installation for 2027.  This project is in partnership with Promenade and Galway Traveller Movement.
