In 2025 Roscommon Arts Centre (RAC) will offer four residency opportunities under our “AIR Programme” through an Open Call.
Residency 1 New Voice
Our New Voice Residency specifically for an artist/collective with an idea or project, who would benefit from receiving support to further develop the project. This residency is specific to individuals from underrepresented backgrounds, including those based on age, civil or family status, disability, gender, membership of the Traveller Community, race, religion, sexual orientation, and socioeconomic status. This residency aligns with The Arts Council’s Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion Implementation Plan, recognising the challenges faced by such artists who are striving to advance their careers and enhance their artistic practice.
Residency 2 Seed
The Seed Residency will offer an opportunity to an artist to start/develop a new idea/project/body of work and who would benefit from time and space in a studio/workshop setting with access to mentored support and resources.
Residency 3 Next Steps
The Next Steps Residency will offer an opportunity to an established artist/collective to develop/progress an already existing idea/project/body of work and who would benefit from time and space in a studio/workshop setting with access to mentored support and resources with a possible view to applying for a Project or similar Arts Council award or which may be considered for support in 2026 directly by Roscommon Arts Centre. If you would like access to work in the auditorium as part of this residency, please include this in your application.
Residency 4 Show Development in partnership with Motion Chapel
The Show Development Residency is an exciting new partnership with Roscommon’s newest residency space Motion Chapel (MC) and Roscommon County Council Arts Office. Suitable for companies or artists who would like time to remount a piece of work or develop existing work further with support of a residency time and space in MC and time to work on technical aspects within the RAC’s studio/workshops space and auditorium. Suitable for ground based artforms/artists in the process of creating or remounting an indoor show for theatres/arts centres, open to circus, dance, movement, theatre or multidisciplinary artforms.
